Choosing the right size for an evening gown, a structured top, or a flowing pant set can feel uncertain—especially when every silhouette is cut differently. This guide explains how sizing works across Zelomari, how to take the measurements that matter most for our collections, and how to read the fit information on each product page so you can order with confidence.
Our Size Range
Most Zelomari garments are offered in letter sizes from S through 3XL. The exact options available depend on the individual product, so always check the size selector on the item page before adding to your cart. Color and style choices are separate from size; they do not affect measurements.
Body Measurements vs. Garment Measurements
These two types of numbers serve different purposes and should not be confused:
- Body measurements describe your own bust, waist, and hip circumference. A product size guide that lists ranges like "Bust 35–37 in" is telling you the body size it is designed to accommodate.
- Garment or finished-product measurements describe the actual dimensions of the sewn item—its flat width, total length, or ease built into the cut. These numbers will be larger than your body measurements because they include room for movement and the intended silhouette.
When a product page provides a size chart, look for a label or heading that clarifies which type of measurement the numbers represent. If it is not explicitly stated, compare the listed values to your own body measurements and consider the fit description (slim, regular, relaxed) to judge how much ease the garment includes.
How to Measure Yourself
For the dresses, gowns, and tops in our collections, three measurements are most relevant. Use a soft, flexible measuring tape and keep it snug against your skin without pulling or twisting. Stand naturally with your arms relaxed at your sides.
- Bust: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it level and parallel to the floor across your back.
- Waist: Measure at your natural waistline—the narrowest part of your torso, typically just above the navel. Do not cinch the tape; let it rest lightly.
- Hip: Measure around the widest part of your hips and seat, keeping the tape horizontal all the way around.
Record your numbers in inches. Manual measurement can vary by approximately 0.4–1.2 inches depending on body shape and tape placement, so if you land near the boundary between two sizes, use the fit notes on the specific product page to guide your decision.
Reading Fit Notes on Product Pages
Not every Zelomari garment fits the same way. A structured mermaid gown with a slim bodice will behave differently from a draped halter top with a relaxed silhouette or a wide-leg pant set designed to glide over curves. Each product description includes fit language—such as "slim fit," "regular fit," or "relaxed drape"—that tells you how the garment is intended to sit on the body.
Some products also include a sizing recommendation (for example, "if between sizes, we recommend sizing up") that is specific to that item's cut and fabric. Never apply a fit note from one garment to another; always refer to the page for the exact piece you are considering.
